How do I check if I'm registered to vote by mail?
You can use the Maryland State Board of Elections lookup tool here. You may also contact the Prince George's County Board of Elections at (301) 341-7300.
When are mail-in ballots mailed out?
Mail-in ballots started going out Monday, September 21st. You may track your mail-in ballot through the Prince George's County Board of Elections website.
How do I request a mail-in ballot?
You may request a mail-in ballot through the Maryland State Board of Elections website here. You may also call the Prince George's County Board of Elections and they will mail you a physical request form. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, October 27th.
I received a mail-in ballot before but haven't gotten one for this year. Why?
In 2025, Prince George's County had a special election for county executive. The Board of Elections sent a mail-in ballot to all registered voters. However, during a regular election, voters need to request a mail-in ballot.
Can I ask to receive a mail-in ballot for all future elections?
Yes. When requesting a mail-in ballot, there is an option on the form to receive them for all future elections. Once you are on the Permanent mail-in ballot list, the Board of Elections will send you your mail-in ballot for each future Federal and State election that you are eligible to vote in. You won't have to submit a request for each election.
If you sign up for the Permanent mail-in ballot list and then do not return your mail-in ballot for 2 consecutive General Elections, you will be removed from the Permanent Mail-In Ballot list. You will then need to vote in-person or reapply for a mail-in ballot. In practical terms: if you miss both the 2026 and 2028 November elections, you will have to request a mail-in ballot in 2030.
